Hey Trav-man!
I’ve never known anyone as persistent as you. You can turn a question of “How’d the Cards do today?” into an hour long “conversation” where in the end I’ve been pleasantly made aware of the top 50 reasons the Cubs suck this particular year. I enjoy every minute of it. You’re gonna beat this thing! Our thoughts and prayers will be with you, your family, and your Dr tomorrow. Happy Bday T and B!

I’ve been thinking about you, Karla and the boys a lot in the past few days. I hope your little guys had a blast this weekend for their birthday and I’m sure you enjoyed every minute. We are all cheering for you and I’ve recruited some new fans of yours! I like to tell people, this guy is a Longhorn fan living in Lincoln which might be worse than a Wildcat living in Lincoln!

T-Burk, I wanted to call, but didn’t want to interrupt anything this weekend. I’ve been thinking of you and Karla, and I’ll be sending positive vibes your way (already have been!). You told me this summer that we need to have a drink, and I want you to know, I’m still holding you to that! I’ll buy of course…
I noticed that you are in type 3 out of 4, and I just wanted to drop a little baseball stat on you. You are already hitting .250, so that means a home run is in the “Cards” because you are due!
Plus, that MEG thing sounded a little like Darth Vader in his chamber during Empire Strikes Back…I know how much your wife loves my Star Wars analogies!

Between your mom updating the birthday group and reading through your blog and facebook updates I’m getting the hang of following your story. I really want to meet your wife and boys. travis, we think it would be fun to share some of our favorite memories with you. like the times when we spent the night on the bunk beds u got for us, our soccer battles, when u came to the rescue to get the bird out of our cabinet because mom and us were to scared to go inside, on Christmas when i got my karaoke machine when all of u guys went crazy, when u wrapped me up in millions of blankets, when u hung halie upside down and tickled her, all of our water gun and balloon fights on the fourth of july, and many more. we can’t wait to make a million more memories. you are such a great uncle. we hope that everything goes well and we can all fight through this together. anytime u need us we will always be there for u.

i have no doubt you are strong enough to beat this. know why? because you make my sister happy & only someone with incredible will can do that! and you do it daily. thank you for that. and thank you for being a phenomenal daddy to my precious nephews, a fantastic uncle to my kids & the brother i never had.
When this awful battle is over & you have won, you will have an amazing story to tell your grandkids. and they will be just as proud of you then as we all are right now.
