Travis, Karla and boys–I teach at LSE and just wanted you to know my prayers are with you. From what your mom has emailed it sounds like you are one “tough cookie” and doing everything possible. I’ll keep you in my thoughts and prayers for all the strength you need to beat this.

You don’t know me but I heard of your illness from our daughter, Suzanne DeRiese who works at Kenexa. Travis, It appears that you have a strong strength of character and a wonderful support system going for you. Sounds like a pretty good combo to me. Count us in. We’re praying for you.
Travis and Karla,
We are so happy to hear that things have gone well for you. Keep up the positive thoughts and attitude, trust me it works. Take care and let us know if you need anything. (even a Coors)

Hello, Travis! I’m glad to hear you’re going home Thursday! You are highly valued and missed. We wish you and your family strength and good humor. Cheers! Paul and Sarah Lee
Sounds like you are doing great, Travis. The kids both check on you daily as do Kathy and I. Can’t believe you and your family have to go through this, but know you will come through with flying colors. Chin up.
Hi Travis and Family. I work for Kenexa and saw an update on your progress. I am so in awe of the strength that you and your family have in this difficult time. I will pray for your speedy recovery and to give you and your family the strength to keep moving forward.
Dear Travis & Family,
My Dad (Steve Kontos) played softball with your Dad … I was told of your situation and have thought of all of you every day since then. I am so thankful to know that you have such an amazing wife, baby boys, and mom & dad to help you through all of this. There are so many of us thinking of you and praying for you that you don’t even know of. I believe in the power of prayer and will always keep you in mine. Thank you, Karla, for keeping all of us in the “loop” as all of you are thought of often and it is comforting to have some answers.
Oh yeah, I live in Austin, Texas now with my Husband so next time you come down for a UT game I’d love to take you guys around!! Huskers first, Longhorns second!
Travis…
It’s been such a long time since we’ve seen you, and we certainly never wanted to reconnect like this. Zach hooked us up to your blog, which we check daily. As we would have expected, it seems you’ve grown in to such a fine young man…with a lovely (and AMAZING!) wife and darling little boys. The way that you have handled yourself thru all this is so inspirational…and your positive attitude will help you to a speedy recovery. You seem to be surrounded by so many people who love you…so hang on to that, and just think of all the prayers that are coming your way. Our prayers are among them today and always. The entire “White” family sends their love.
XO Tom and Karen White
I figured I’d sign your guest book as well as your last post.
Eric and I (and our girls) were in Nebraska for Christmas when we heard of your seizure and tumor. I know that your mother was keeping the Birthday group informed of any new developments.
I am pleased to hear that your surgery went well and that everything seems to be moving in the right direction. I am also pleased that my un-tech Savvy Mother in Law, Janet Marion finally gave me another way to get information, because I am pretty sure I was driving her nuts as if you had a blog or something.
We will continue to keep you in our prayers and thoughts. Your strength is inspiring to anyone you knows you story and we pray that soon you are home wrestling around and playing with your adorable boys.
Lots of love and prayerful thoughts,
MIchelle, Eric, Lindsay and Lydia Marion
Travis and Karla,
We have been in touch with your grandmother quite a bit and she has kept us informed of what has been going on with your surgery. Then she told us about the website. We have read it and feel we are closer to you and the situation, and we find this comforting. Your Okie relatives are wishing you both the best and full and complete recovery, faster than you can imagine.

Hello Travis and Karla, So nice of Aaron to share your blog site with us….Good to hear all the positive news. I write to let you know that two of our family members went to Madonna and I spent weeks there with my nephew from Wyo. after a tramatic brain injury and my grandmother after suffering a stroke. Our whole family can’t say enough good things about the rehab programs they have. Great, great place to get better. Our love support to you and your families.
Travis and Karla – keep up the great work (speech, physical, and blog therapy)! I’ve been getting lots of updates from Norman and have been sending all my best prayers for you all. Here’s to many more words in the near future!
Kasey’s sister here ….. I just wanted to let you know that I check this sight frequently. I pray for you .. each of you … and am reassured by the power of love, courage, and strength that I read with each blog. Karla, I don’t know you very well, and Travis, I don’t believe that we have met, but I am very amazed by each of you. Blessing to you and here’s to a speedy & successful recovery!!
I have no idea who you are and you have no idea who I am. A few days ago I was looking at my boyfriend’s Facebook and saw that someone posted ‘travistuesday.com’. My curiosity was peaked so I decided to take a look. I don’t know, and that’s okay. I am following your story and check your site several times a day for new posts. Know this, even strangers are thinking about you. Your family is in my thoughts even though you have no idea who I am! All the best to Travis. And Travis…you are one lucky man to have such a beautiful and caring wife. But I’m sure you already know this:) Here is to a speedy recover with good news trailing behind you every step of the way.
Sending prayers and positive thoughts your way. Please let us know if there is anything we can do! Your daycare family is thinking of you guys and rooting for a speedy recovery!
Travis, just found out about this and wanted to say that you are in my thoughts and prayers. I know you’ll kick the crap out of this. Glad to hear the surgery went so well.
Karla & Travis – You are on many prayers lists at McFarlin UMC in Norman. Your grandmother, Jan is a close friend and we have been in choir together for 20 years. She and I volunteer in the choir room on Tuesday mornings. I am glad to read this website to keep informed of Travis’s progress. God bless you and your family.
Our family is with you every step of the way. Anything you need – we are here. Thank you for keeping up with the posts so we all know what is happening. Sending love and support your way.
I sent a message via facebook yesterday, but this will likely reach you sooner. Ali Brackett let me know yesterday what has been going on with you and I have been obsessively refreshing this blog ever since. First, what a beautiful family and life you have built for yourself!! I can only imagine the trouble you can get into with your boys How lucky they are to have you for a father.
I am so sorry you and your family are having this experience–I can’t imagine how difficult things are right now for all of you, but I am struck by the optimism and overall phenomenal attitude you, Karla, and your loved ones have! That will be what catapults you onto the road to recovery. That, and your refusal to let anything beat you. There’s an inordinate number of people, including myself, praying and pulling for you and your family. There will be what seem like setbacks ahead, but know that those are all part of the recovery process. I can’t wait to read about you actually reaching for that first Coors!
Karla, thank you so much for the frequent updates. Just reading what you have written, you are an amazing, strong wife and mother and Travis and your boys are lucky to have you!
Much love to you and your family, take care,
Megan McDowell
I’m almost ashamed to say that this is the first day I heard that you were ill, Travis (being in a different work building definitely hampers communication!). I’m so glad to hear that the surgery went well, and I will be praying for you and your family. What a blessing it will be when you can return home to your lovely wife and kids!
Looking forward to seeing your post-surgery posts as you work through your recovery. Draw strength from your loved ones – they will be there for you every step of the way.
Hey Travis and Karla,
Kathy’s friend “Lula” checking in the day after surgery – I followed all posts yesterday. This is not my area of expertise, but I am a retired speech/language pathologist who spent much of my career working with stroke patients. In reviewing this update the day after surgery, what you re seeing may be the result of brain swelling in the area of the surgery itself, and the symptoms you are describing, Karla, may resolve themselves when the swelling abates and there is decreased pressure in the brain. You are likely to see a lot of spontaneous recovery of function in these early days.
My best to you both and your terrific family as well,
Lula
Travis and Karla: Thanks for the great news. It sounds like the first step – an incredibly difficult operation – has been completed with very, very good outcomes. Now for the recovery period. Hang tough for another day and things will be a lot brighter. I’ll have Travis share watching Manchester United play some great soccer when he can spare a minute during his recovery!! And well done Karla – the rock of the family – we know how difficult this has been for you. Keep up the good work and stay confident and positive. You have already assured a way forward in these difficult moments,

I know those cranes are flying over you bringing you the strength to get through this and your medical team.
